Kingstown, RI – June
9, 2008 – Hexagon Metrology, Inc. has announced that it has acquired its
leading Sheffield CMM products distributor, Advanced Metrology Solutions of
Dayton, OH. The company is a leading
distributor of precision metrology products in a nine-state territory,
stretching from Michigan to Florida.
Besides Sheffield, the company also
sells other Hexagon Metrology brands including ROMER portable arm measuring
systems, TESA precision hand tools and PC-DMIS software.
“This acquisition is part of
Hexagon’s Global Growth Strategy of acquiring key distribution partners in key
markets worldwide” said Bill Gruber, President and CEO of Hexagon Metrology,
Inc.. “In North America, it complements our multi-channel distribution strategy
for Sheffield and ROMER products, which
ensures a focused sales force concentrating on individual brands and product
categories.”

Advanced Metrology
Solutions had sales of over nine million dollars in 2007, and
presently employs 19 people.
Advanced Metrology Solutions will be fully consolidated as of the 1st
of June 7th, 2008 and will immediately contribute to Hexagon’s earnings.
