Take the CMM to the part instead of the part to the CMM. ROMER Absolute Arm portable CMMs, combined with Tube Inspection System (TIS) accessories, deliver flexible solutions for a wide array of tube and wire bending applications.
Tube bending applications are unique compared to other areas of the manufacturing world. Instead of merely verifying whether parts meet specification, a system needs to provide the ability to adjust bending processes and achieve maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
The system includes non-contact, infrared probes which are able to inspect even the most fragile materials without the risk of damage. It also features intuitive laser light probe guidance to aid the operator in clearly seeing where points are taken. With the ability to communicate directly with CNC tube benders via DOCS software, the ROMER Tube Inspection System can generate tube design, inspect, adjust bend corrections, reverse engineer and certify fixtures. It is the perfect addition to any tube and wire bending shop environment.
Feature Pack Options for 6-Axis Absolute Arms:
DOCS tube inspection software allows direct connection to CNC tube benders via bender interfaces. Available interfaces include:

All specifications according to B89.4.22.
1 The Point Repeatability Test is the reference test to determine measurement arm repeatability with ball probe. The cone is in front of the machine. Points are measured from multiple approach directions. The average point and the deviation of each point to the average center are calculated. The result is the maximum range divided by two.
2 The Volumetric Accuracy Test is the most representative test for volume measurement accuracy. A gage block with a known and certified length is measured several times throughout the working volume. This gage block is installed in different positions and measured depending on multiple approach directions. The result is the maximum deviation of the measuring distance less the theoretical length.
The ROMER Tube Inspection System may also be used with the 7 axis ROMER Absolute Arm.
